Hello dear hivers and my fellow creative needle workers, hope you all are having a productive week or a restful one, as all work and no rest don't do the body well especially in helping to create a refreshing mind for new creative ideas.

Well ever since my back started aching frequently from overworking for long hours on my sewing machine, I decided to be intentional about giving myself the needed break, and also be more conscious of my sitting position, so far, using a pillow behind my back has also helped in giving me quite a relief, sometimes It isn't medicine we need for some certain body pains, it's just about adjusting certain unhealthy lifestyles choices or postures like mine. I'm supposed to have two days rest period this week and today happens to be the second day, yesterday, I decided to give myself a treat of a good meal, rice and beef stew, what's a good rest without a good meal right, while making my meal I ended up having splashes of palm oil stains on my dress, which is quite annoying to easy out, will it be shocking to know that I've got no apron in my kitchen, (covering my face right now) well not intentionally, the thing is, whenever my sister or a friend visit, they somehow always leave along with my aprons that I gave up on making more, or maybe I didn't just give the time to make a new one, and always keep postponing, it is only when I have incidence like yesterday I remember I do need an apron.

Thanks to the needlework Monday contest of the month #needleworkyourkitchen, I feel more motivated to make a new one for myself, I hope it last this time, if not, then I guess I will have to keep on making new ones every now and then, but I do hope this one last as I made it out of an old dress I abandoned for a long time, the dress style is old and unfitting but I couldn't trash it because I loved the fabric but didn't know what to make of it until now, and I'm happy to upcycle my dress to a beautiful apron, as it still gets to be useful to me.

To make my apron, I started by drafting the pattern on the dress on fold and cutting it out to have this show, the length Is 26 inches, while the width of the chest area is 14 inches, the aude of the middle is out by 2 inches, then I curved the sides.

I went further to cut out the pocket pattern, from the back zipper area of the dress and sewed it on the apron.

To make the ruffles round the curved base, I cut out a long strip from the hem of the free and gathered it around the curved sides.

Finally, I cut out and sewed a strip of 22 inches in length and 2 inches on fold, which will go around my neck, and also cut out two strips to tie at my back.

And that ends the making process of this cute apron I made, it was easy to make, and also less time-consuming, I hope soneone gets inspired to make theirs with the following step-by-step process.
