Hello savers!

Today I want to share with you a summary of what was my attempt to save this year that is about to end; I must say that it was a great experience to try from scratch a practice that is alien to my financial habits, either because I did not have the opportunity to save or because I was never educated to do so, so, what I tried this year was something totally innovative and sobering for me and mine.

Having the possibility, the disposition and the discipline to establish a savings routine, is something that can change the life of a person, a family or a company, that talking about basic savings, just putting aside a percentage of your income, now, this becomes something more powerful if we have the ability to invest those savings, this would generate multiplication of resources, and what to say when in addition to investing those savings we take the decision to apply compound interest to all that generates that investment, we would be generating wealth and achieving our financial independence.

My biggest gain

Even though I have not achieved the total of my objectives, and probably will not achieve them, I do not feel like a total loser, although logically I am not happy with what I achieved quantitatively speaking, I believe that all this experience leaves me in a different position than the one I was in January of this year that is about to end.

Today I can say that, unlike how I started this year, at this moment I know perfectly well what I have to do to be in a better economic position than I am now, at the end of 2025, besides being convinced that no matter how many times I stumble this is my best option, and I am focused on achieving it.

It is possible that someone may say that with these achievements I will not buy food, that is true, but this learning will pay off, as I am ready to try again from now on.

Summary of my first year as a saver

This year I started my journey as a saver on January 30th with this publication: https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@gerjer/saturday-savers-club-first-day-of-the-rest-of-my-life, thanks to the recommendation of a friend who guided me to the Saturday Savers club, and these were the numbers I started with:

One of my concerns when I started this challenge was the economic situation of my country, in addition to the fear that something unforeseen would happen during the course of this year, as indeed it did, events that took me out of focus and made it very difficult for me to continue advancing towards my goals.

Unfortunate events

After starting and maintaining a good pace the first months of the challenge, I must confess that every week that I advanced I got closer to my goal, this became a motivation to continue striving, but as I approached each week to my goal, the road became more difficult, this because the daily and weekly contribution to my savings increased, until I got what I feared.

This was my last progress report published in the community on April 16, 2024:

The first mishap I suffered was the loss of my phone, through which I did part of my work on this platform, as the computer I had was very obsolete and had many problems to work with it, so I had to have the resource and something else.

Later I suffered the loss of the computer in which I worked, this fact took me away from writing for some time, as it was complicated to do all the work from my phone, today it is not a problem for me since I managed to access a computer from which I am trying to resume the constancy in the platform.

Conclusions

My current situation is much better than it was in January when I started, all thanks to the support I received from a friend who has my account as shown below:

This image reflects the current state of my account, however, there are other tokens that I will add as goals in my next attempt to save, since in addition to the challenges that I will take this year, I will possibly add some other token to accumulate by 2025.

I must say that, although my main goal of 670 HBD is far and possibly I will not achieve it, my secondary goal of 600 HIVE POWER I will make a final investment to reach it before the end of this year, so all is not lost.
