Reviewing a game with LeelaZero on ZBaduk.com

Hi!
On
you can review your games with a help of a really strong AI.First you need to connect to an available server. In addition to LeelaZero, you can try the KataGo server, but it seems a bit slower and like it has a bit more limited game tree search. But I'm not actually sure. All I know LeelaZero is based on the DeepMind's paper on AlphaZero, so it should be pretty strong.

First you choose the game you want to review. You can upload it by using the menus on the game review screen that comes up first.

This is the game review screen:

The chart on the right hand side shows whether the game is biased to black (up, 0), or white (down, 1). Below it you can see the AI table. You can also activate the Playout chart that shows the LeelaZero visits on each move (the calculations made on each move I guess).

Here, white made is about to make a bad move. The Cyan ball with the figure 56.1/346 shows the weight of the move, and how many votes LeelaZero is giving for that particular weight. Here LeelaZero has decided the best move is blocking black from making a hane. White chose to tenuki.

My winning odds would have risen dramatically had I played at least one of the places indicated by LeelaZero.

After multiple "bad" moves played by white, I was suddenly winning...

...but then I plundered...

...by making a series of sub-optimal moves myself. But gladly my opponent started making some bad moves of his own...

...which I in turn missed, and... Well this would be so much easier to show as a video.
When I first did a review on ZBaduk, I also checked up the alternative strategies LeelaZero provided, and most of them were pretty difficult, although I did get something out of it. (It is rather easy to make a living group in a cramped space, if you are a supercomputer.)
But hey, I'll give you guys
so you can check it out yourselves. 😅 (Since I'm not absolutely certain I can link to the game on ZBaduk, here is the . You can go through it with your own preferred Go application. I personally use Quarry on Linux.)I realize I should add some games where I lost and check out why. I'll do that on a later date.
