A somber-looking Richard made his way to the front of his ex-girlfriend's polished mahogany door. He knocked repeatedly until the door was open by Eunice. “I told you never to contact me again,” she said with much gusto. “I really am sorry and I promise I'll be better. I can't live without you. I need this. I need you.” His words were accompanied by tears and Eunice's heart melted.

“Well, you can come in for now. It's not safe for you to be moving about at this ungodly hour,”she said. He made his way in with a sly, mischievous grin on his face.
