Hello everyone, it is Do The Math, and today I would like to talk about something that has been bothering me for a while now; why wrestlers should make more.

Not an expert writer here but honestly what is clear to me is their hard-working style and dedication in the ring every night before our very eyes.

First of all let us discuss how much these people put into it. They are training hard, spending time in gyms, perfecting their moves and risking themselves each time they enter the ring. It’s not easy my friends.

They travel across the country, leaving behind their families just to come and entertain us. Moreover, besides being physically challenging this job requires mental strength as well. These guys have to come up with storylines for matches, write promos and develop characters we care about.

  • This needs creativity and talent too.

But you know what? Despite all the hard work, many wrestlers don’t earn much money. Of course, there are plenty of big name stars who are making bundles of money but what about the others? They struggle to pay their bills and make ends meet from month to month. This is not right. These people put themselves at tremendous risk of injury; they give their bodies up for entertainment, so why aren’t they getting paid a fair wage?

Risk is also something else that should be noted here. Wrestling isn't like your typical 9-5 where you punch in, do your thing and then punch out. No way!

These people face real danger each time they enter the ring. Injuries can occur with every match or incident on stage – usually minor injuries but sometimes really severe ones that could turn one’s life around forever.

Moreover, long-term consequences must not be overlooked either. I’ve heard stories of ex-wrestlers living with pain and health issues for years after leaving the game behind them. That’s not something you embrace lightly.

One more thing: the entertainment value. It is not enough to look at wrestling as moves and drama; it is a way of bonding with fans.

These wrestlers are performing, entertaining us, making us laugh and cry while at the same time thrilling us so much that we jump out of our seats.

They are creating unforgettable moments, which we cannot ignore because they are priceless. Consequently, why aren’t they paid what they deserve?

Of course I don’t believe that wrestlers should be making millions like actors or professional athletes, but they should be doing better than this.

They should receive a decent wage for all their effort, skill and risks. Thus whenever you watch an action in a wrestling ring think about those people involved and how much risk is being done for our entertainment by them.

It may be possible that this can help us get started giving them some recognition and payback.
