Hi there. In this Pokemon TCG post I highlight the insane prices on booster box prices on the Surging Sparks expansion set. I also cover the rising price of this Special Illustration Rare of Pikachu ex.
I guess the Poke Investors and flippers are back in full force. It is also the holiday season. Pikachu is a mascot Pokemon and is something that people want.
Surging Sparks Booster Box Price
With booster boxes in Pokemon TCG the usual price is around 150 CAD. Maybe 160 CAD sometimes. With the Surging Sparks set the price has went up to 215 CAD, 220 CAD or even 250 CAD. The 250 CAD price is from 401 Games, a very popular game store in Downtown Toronto.

The Surging Prices Of Pikachu ex
The number 1 chase card from the Surging Sparks expansion set is this Pikachu ex. It does look very nice.
This Pikachu ex's market price has been out of control I think. People are going crazy after this and the booster boxes. There are people who gamble and have this mentality of this Pikachu or bust. Anything not Pikachu results in cards going in the garbage. It is kind of mad if you ask me.
As of Nov 18, 2024, the market price of this Pikachu ex is around 474 USD.
