Pikachu ex Card + More From Supercharged Breaker Set
0 comments
Hi. In this Pokemon TCG post I cover some cards from the Japanese set Supercharged Breaker plus Tera Pikachu ex.
Cards
- Magnemite
- Magneton
- Magnezone
- Terapagos
- Cyrano
- Technical Machine: Fluorite
- Amped Amphitheater Stadium Card
- Gravity Mountain
- Miracle Intercom ACE SPEC Card
- Stellar Tera Pikachu ex
Magnemite
Magnemite is a 60 HP Basic Lightning Pokemon with one retreat cost and one Fighting Energy. For one Lightning Energy it does 20 damage. Notthing too crazy.
Magneton
Magneton is a 100HP Stage 1 Lightning Pokemon that evolves from Magnemite. It has one retreat cost and Fighting weakness. The Electric Ball attack costs one Lightning and one Colourless Energy to do 40 damage. This attack is not very good.
What stands out is Magneton's ability of Overvolt Discharge. Once during your turn you may attach up to 3 Basic Energy cards from the discard pile to your Lightning Pokemon in any way you like. The drawback is that the Magneton is Knocked out. This card is good in Miraidon ex Electric decks to accelerate Lightning Energy from the discard pile once the Basic Energy cards are used up.
Magnezone
Magnezone is a 170 HP Stage 2 Pokemon that evolves from Magneton. This has three retreat costs and some costly attacks. I don't think attacker is good.
Terapagos
This Terapagos is the single prize version. It has 120 HP, two retreat cost and is of the colourless type. The second attack of Hard Tackler does 100 damage for 3 Colourless energy. Nothing too crazy here.
Terapago's first attack of Prism Charge takes one Colourless Energy. With the Prism Charge attack you can search your deck for up to 3 Basic Energy of all different types and attach them to your Tera Pokemon in any way you like. This effect provides major Basic Energy acceleration to your Tera Pokemon. I think some decks would use 1 or 2 copies of this as it is good for setup in the next turn.
Cyrano
The Cyrano Supporter card allows the user to search the deck for up to 3 Pokemon ex cards and put them into your hand. You can search for Basic Pokemon ex cards or Evolution Pokemon ex cards.
Being able to search for Evolution Pokemon ex cards is powerful. Ultra Ball is a popular Item card for searching for Evolution cards but it requires discarding two cards from the hand. Cyrano being able to search for up to 3 Evolution Pokemon ex without discarding cards is quite powerful.
Evolution decks with Pokemon ex can benefit greatly from Cyrano. One or two copies in a deck is my prediction.
Technical Machine: Fluorite
This Pokemon Tool card is a Technical Machine card. It has the Fluorite attack that requires one Grass Energy, one Water Energy and one Psychic Energy. When this attack is used you discard all energy from the Pokemon this tool is attached to and heal all damage from all Tera Pokemon.
I don't think this card is very good. The energy cost requirements are high and particular and it is not likely you would heal a lot of damage nor heal a lot of Tera Pokemon. One good combo would be Cramorant and this tool card.
Amped Amphitheater Stadium Card
Amped Amphitheater is a Stadium card that provides a +30HP for Basic Pokemon in play. Single prize Basic Pokemon get a +30 HP boost as well as Basic Pokemon V and Basic Pokemon ex.
A beefy Basic Pokemon like Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex with a Bravery Charm, two Bouffalant and this Amped Amphitheater card would be kind of crazy. Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex has 260 HP, Bravery Charm would add +50 HP for Basic Pokemon, Amped Ampitheater gives it +30 HP. This would be 340 HP. Then you add the Bouffalant which has 60 damage reduction. You need 400 damage (not counting weakness) to hit the Bloodmoon Ursaluna.
Gravity Mountain
This Gravity Mountain Stadium card is interesting. When this Stadium card is in play, the maximum HP of all Stage 2 Pokemon in play is reduced by 30.
Popular Stage 2 Pokemon ex cards like Charizard ex with 330 HP goes down to 300 HP. Dragapult ex is another Stage 2 Pokemon ex that is popular. It is has 320 HP then goes down by 30 HP to 290 HP with this Stadium in play.
Miracle Intercom ACE SPEC Card
Miracle Intercom is an Item ACE SPEC card that allows up to put up 2 Supporter cards from the discard pile into your hand.
This card is good if you have a Supporter from the discard pile and you need to retrieve it from discard into your hand and play it right away. Use Miracle Intercom, retrieve something like Boss's Orders, use Boss's Orders to target a weak Pokemon, attack it and win the game.
I am not sure if this ACE SPEC card is worth that one ACE SPEC spot. This has to compete with stuff like Prime Catcher, Hero's Cape, Unfair Stamp, Sparkling Crystal.
I think Miracle Intercom would be most suitable in decks that run Pokestop.
Stellar Tera Pikachu ex
There was a Pikachu ex card in the early versions of Scarlet & Violet expansion. It was not very good. Here is the Stellar Tera version of Pikachu ex.
The ability of Tenacious Heart is a good ability. If the Pikachu ex has full HP and would be Knocked out by damage from an attack then it is not Knocked Out and has 10 HP instead. Think of like the Focus Band tool from the video games.
Pikachu ex has one attack of Topaz Bolt. It requires one Grass Energy, one Lightning Energy and one Metal Energy to 300 damage. The drawback is that you discard 3 Energy from Pikachu ex after the attack. Combine this attack with the Gravity Mountain stadium card which would allow Pikachu ex to one hit a 330 HP Charizard ex. Gravity Mountain would decrease the HP from 330 HP to 300 HP which would allow Pikachu ex to one hit knockout the Charizard ex.
The hard part is meeting the energy requirements for the attack. Something like the supporter Crispin helps decks with different energy types. The ACE SPEC card Sparkling Crystal helps as well. Sparkling Crystal reduces the energy requirements of attacks in Tera Pokemon by 1 Energy.
Pikachu ex would be best on attacking larger HP Pokemon. You would not want to waste energy on attacking weaker Pokemon as you discard Energy.
Ultra Rare Print
Here is the ultra rare print version of Pikachu ex. This one looks nice. Pikachu is standing with its iconic open mouth smile and the tera crystals over its head.
