More time to live

Not working long hours anymore I finally have time to do some reading. I picked up 'There is no planet B' by Mike Berners-Lee. Having been written when Trump was still in power in America it missed out on a lot of recent developments. It's still a great book on a very valid topic.
We are simply using too much power and unless we change our stride the future looks very bleak.
Mike offers very good possible solutions for some scenarios. I did notice though that there is an underlying expectation that tomorrow will be much like yesterday.
One thing I learned in South Africa, things change fast.
While I do believe that our energy consumption is outpacing our resources I am much more concerned with surviving until tomorrow. Maybe getting stuck with no money and no resources woke me up. I'm guessing about the reason. I am very sure we should all get prepared.
This isn't a doomsday prophecy. It's just about keeping up with a changing life in a fast changing world that is moving in a dangerous direction.
I have a few sugestions on this.
If you are living in South Africa you will understand why my first sugestion is, learn to protect yourself. This is priority. Learn how to apply violence without using weapons.
This may sound strange coming from a guy who were talking about God and Jesus in his previous post. The truth is, when the Israélites were rebuilding the temple in the days of old, they were doing it with a sword in one hand and a trowel in the other. The children of God were never strangers to violence.
So back to the now. Learn how to fight and always be ready and able to defend yourself.
Whatever the future looks like, knowing that you can defend yourself will always serve you. There is confidence that comes with that that will always work for you.
Next on the list is learning how to use weapons. The emphasis is on the plural. A weapon, like any tool, isn't a one thing works for every job idea. Sometimes you have to be able to use what you can put your hands on. Sometimes, what you normally carry just won't do the job.
The skill set needed to defend yourself and to use weapons is by no means the only skill set you need.
In this rapidly changing world first-aid is next on the list. Knowing how to patch up damage to yourself or someone else with or without the modern tools available is the next most valuable thing to have in your toolbox.
It's amazing how many instances there are in the world around you where knowing what to do can save a life. Maybe even your own life.
You don't have to like doing it. You have to know how to do it.
These two are a must in your toolbox for surviving until tomorrow.
If you have money available, you can fix a lot of problems of everyday living. That is why knowing how money works and finding other ways of making money is the number three on my list.
It's not about the money. It's about not being stuck with one thing. If you are stuck on just a job for an income things gets bad when the job goes south.
Sometimes people identify with their careers, possibly because that keeps the food on the table. When there are more income streams and different skill sets in play, you don't completely lose yourself when you lose your job.
These are the first three things on my list of most important things to do in a changing world.
It's simple and it's worth doing.
I appreciate your support.
Live life to the fullest.
