Finding accommodation for a few months in Cebu is more difficult than I thought. I am spoiled by Thailand's islands. There one always finds something in every furnishing variant and from cheap to expensive. Here it is something different. Forget about Facebook, there almost exclusively sellers advertise their real estate. So all you can do is drive around and call every "for rent" sign and AirBnB etc.. When you make calls you will notice that these landlords are especially interested in rentals of 6 months+ (without cooking facilities!). Only the online portals remain. And there the offers are as creatively arranged as Tinderprofile. At least my cottage is in a gated community, we have nice neighbours, Johanna didn't get a hysterical attack and it's near the beach if you want to call 2 kilometres to the water in close range. The water pressure is not enough to take a shower, but that's not bad because there is no shower. Instead there is an aircon that blows the hot air into the kitchen instead of outside. If you want it cool in the bedroom you have a sauna in the kitchen without cooking. But the best thing and therefore worth mentioning is the drainage of the Aircon.

Eine Unterkunft für ein paar Monate in Cebu zu finden ist schwieriger als ich angenommen hatte. Da bin ich wohl von Thailands Inseln verwöhnt. Dort findet man immer etwas in jeder Ausstattungsvariante und von billig bis teuer. Hier ist es etwas anderes. Facebook kann man vergessen, dort bewerben fast ausschließlich Verkäufer ihre Immobilien. Also bleibt nur rumfahren und jedes "for rent" Schild abzutelefonieren und AirBnB etc. Beim Telefonieren stellt man dann fest, daß diese Vermieter vor allem an Vermietungen von 6 MOnate+ (ohne Kochmöglichkeit!) interessiert sind. Bleiben nur die Onlineportale. Und da sind die Angebote sind so kreativ gestaltet wie Tinderprofile. Zumindest ist mein Häuschen in einer gated community, wir haben nette Nachbarn, Johanna hat keinen hysterischen Anfall bekommen und es ist in Reichweite vom Strand, wenn man knapp 2 Kilometer bis zum Wasser in Reichweite nennen will. Der Wasserdruck, der auch hier nicht ausreicht um zu duschen, aber das ist nicht weiter schlimm, da es keine Dusche gibt. Dafür gibt es eine Aircon, die die heiße Luft in die Küche statt nach draußen bläst. Willst Du es kühl im Schlafzimmer hast Du eine Saune in der Küche, ganz ohne zu kochen. Aber das Schönste und deshalb auch eine Erwähnung wert ist die Entwässerung der Aircon.

But whatever, it's for a few weeks and most of the time we're on the water or on the road anyway. I found a well-assorted fruit stand nearby and there's a philippine street kitchen every few yards.

Aber was solls, es ist für ein paar Wochen und die meiste Zeit sind wir eh am Wasser oder unterwegs. Ich habe in der Nähe einen gut sortierten Obststand gefunden und phillipinische Straßenküche gibt es aller paar Meter.
