Hello everyone! How are you? I've been very busy for the last few days because of so many tasks to do. To meet the required target I need to double time and get focused on it. And besides my husband was sick. He was suffering from fever, gastroenteritis, and a high sugar level that caused him to look pale and weak. I Thank God that he is fine now and he is in the recovery stage. Today I will share with you the significance of coconut as the Tree of Life and how the copra buyers harvested it.

Coconut is known as the Tree of Life. It is a useful tree in the world of mankind. Almost all part of the tree from top to bottom is used to sustain human life. Coconut Tree not only provides food and drinks and as natural medicine, but it has several uses; provides lumber for shelter, raw materials for making baskets, firewood, utensils, decorations, and a lot more. Its fruits were not only used for food and drinks but as raw materials in producing coconut oil. This is one of the main sources of living for many Filipinos. Fully matured coconut fruits or the so-called copra (dried coconut fruit) were sold to Copra buyers. Its shells were also sold for the production of new valuable products.

When you have a lot of matured coconut, the buyers will visit your plantation and they will be the ones to harvest your coconut. They harvest it by climbing to the top by making a slit or hakhak. When done, some buyers will take out its husk automatically leaving the shells since they will also sell the shells to other buyers for the production of various new products. It's easy to take out its husk. The buyers just used a steel bar in removing the husk. The husk can now be used as firewood or can be used in orchids plantation.

If you have a vacant lot, I will suggest planting it with coconut. After 5 to 10 years from now, I'm sure you can reap the fruits of your labor. You can have your harvest. Your children can harvest and even your grandchildren too.
