Family Day In School : Sharing Quality Time with Parents, Students and Teachers

Greetings, beloved Hivers! How are you? What are you doing right now? Well, I always hope that all of us here are in good health always for Health is Wealth.

According to Pope John XX111 “The family is the first essential cell of human society.” It is where we found our first love. Love among all members of the family. It is also in our family where our first learnings and experiences started. So keeping one family safe, and secure and having a strong bond, and building memories are important.

Today, I will be sharing one of the highlights of our High School Day Celebration 2024 in our school which the Family Day. For every high school day, we have varied activities to be done. Last school year we had our Fun Run, Family Day, Bingo Social, and the Coronation of King and Queen at the same time the showcasing of talents both teachers and learners. This year, we only have Family Day, and the Coronation of King and Queen since we are out of budget, and for the fun run, we need to have ample time for preparation. For the bingo social, we haven't purchased a card due to budget issues again. We only pursued the family day since it was already our usual activity and we gave value to this celebration.

Family Day helps strengthen the relationship and build camaraderie among parents, students, and teachers. This is also to recognize how important the family is and to remind our parents of the importance of their support to their children, especially in education. Family day will also reconnect and share quality time with their parents, teachers, and classmates in school. So despite, of budget issue, we pursued the celebration. We only hope that many parents will cooperate and show their support for the activity.

Family Day

After the motorcade of King and Queen, we started our family day. It commenced with a prayer and singing of the National Anthem followed by welcoming all the participants. After welcoming all participants, a roll call and a hashtag followed. After which was the energizer to stretch our muscles for the preparation of various games. After having our stretching we started various games. We had five games facilitated by different teachers in secondary. The first game was the Hephep Horray Game followed by Slide with a Twist, Find Your Family, Break the Tail, and Walk with Four Legs. We had so much fun during the game. The parents and children's bonding was executed and realized by participating in the game. The winners of each game were given groceries as their awards.

Before we continued the celebration, our beloved school head delivered her message to inspire and motivate all parents, students, and teachers and to encourage our parents to support their children in their schooling. Then we continued the celebration by having a search for the most talented family by showcasing their talents. Two families were awarded since both rendered a song and both have a golden voice. We also gave awards to the most jolly family, the most complete, and the most competitive family. Then other cash prizes were given to those families who performed a dance number on the dance floor spearheaded by the PTA officers.
 

After the games and awarding was the get-together lunch. Every year level was provided with a table. For every table, we displayed our food to be shared. We had various foods on our table brought by their parents. We enjoyed our lunch together with the parents and their children. Were so happy for the support of some parents. Even if they were only a few at least they came to support their children and to our activity as well. Hoping that for the next Family Day, many parents will come and join the event. We ended the celebration bringing the spirit of love and camaraderie as one family of our school. Thankful for their support and presence.
