After a month, I was able to add another gadget to my Xiaomi collection—I just got myself a new Handheld Garment Steamer. It’s the smaller version and also the most affordable garment steamer I’ve seen so far. Despite its compact size, it’s surprisingly powerful, especially considering it only costs SGD 29.00.

I think it’s a great choice, particularly because it’s convenient to grab when I’m in a rush and need to quickly smooth out wrinkles on my clothes. It’s much more efficient than full-sized garment steamers, which take several minutes just to set up. So, I wanted to share my unboxing experience with you.

It felt surreal when I was handed the box because it was so small—even smaller than a shoebox! I just didn’t expect the packaging to be that compact, especially since I’m used to full-sized steamers that come in large boxes. It was definitely a pleasant surprise!

I have to be honest—I was a bit skeptical at first about whether this small device could actually straighten my clothes. I do have a flat iron and an ironing board that work well, but I’ve been getting tired (or just lazy) when it comes to setting them up. So, I started looking for a simpler, grab-and-go solution. Thankfully, Xiaomi came up with this handheld version, and it does a great job too!

Opening the main box reveals just two components of the steamer—amazing! It’s very simple, which I really like: the iron with its handle and power cord, and a small water tank.

If you’ve seen a traditional garment steamer before, you’ll know that the tank is usually huge, almost like a vacuum. But this handheld version comes with a compact 160ml tank that attaches directly to the iron. That’s also why the power cord is solely for electricity—unlike the full-sized models, where the power cord and water hose are wrapped together.

The beauty of this simplified version is that you don’t even need to read the manual to figure out how to use it—it’s that straightforward. All you have to do is fill the tank with water, attach it to the iron, plug it into a socket, and press the trigger to release the steam. That’s it! There’s only one button/trigger, so the simplicity is absolutely sublime.

Overall, I’m really impressed with how this compact steamer performs—it’s simple, efficient, and perfect for quick touch-ups. It may be small, but it definitely gets the job done. If you’re looking for a hassle-free solution for everyday ironing, this handheld steamer is definitely worth considering!
