At the Feira Popular with my Mother

I've been following this community for a while but this is my first post. I hope you enjoy the day I spent with my mum.
The city where I live, Coimbra - Portugal, is celebrating from 4th July (city day) until 14th July. There are ten intense days with various activities taking place. Among them, the Feira Popular.
My dear mum and I decided to make a different day of it. We always reserve Sunday for shopping and restocking, but yesterday we broke with routine.
We spent a joyful day at the Feira Popular. Despite her age (85), my mum is more of a child than I am, so she was in her own world. The noise of the children's joy, the colours of the various carts, the planes, the cars crashing into each other, the Formula 1 track, the spots selling handicrafts, the cotton candy and the various treats were all there.
There's everything! There's also horror 💀 👹 👻 I didn't have the courage to go in, but I was struck by the use of technology at these popular and more traditional events. This "entertainment" was with Virtual Reality glasses, a significant advance.
It's always a place to meet friends and acquaintances, good for chatting and missing them.
The activities within the Feira Popular are diverse as they mix entertainment with commerce. The best products from the region are represented and there are exhibitions from various institutions - particularly social organisations.
We entered in the middle of the afternoon, around 5.30pm, and hunger started to set in around 8.00pm. So we decided to stay for dinner and barbecue chicken. My mother needed energy for the next programme: watching the Popular Marches. She feasted her eyes on the wardrobe of the marchers and we watched the start of a musical concert. As we didn't like the music, we decided to leave at around 11.00pm. A different sunday very well spent with the person I admire and love most in the world: my mother!
