Pride On Parade

Saturday was the Pride Parade and Festival here in Louisville, which ended up being quite a shindig. A record forty five thousand people turned out for it, with the festival was sold out in advance for the first time ever.
The past few years I've went it's been to give the wowsers that inevitably turn up a hard way to go and keep them preoccupied. This year decided to give others a chance at the fun and just enjoyed the festivities. Or at least the parade, didn't know the festival could sell out.
It was hotter than hell but everyone seemed to be having a fabulous time nevertheless.
In a bit of a plot twist, I was far from the only colonel there.
The local chapter of the International Order of Mrs. Roper even joined in on the fun.
Anyone need a Pride flag? There were 120 different groups in the parade and every other one was giving out flags, don't know how anybody made it out of there with less than half a dozen of them.
Would it even count as a parade if there wasn't marching bands and twirling flags?
Naturally there was plenty of dancing. There was singing too, but that was later, at the festival.
In other words, a right proper shindig.
Happy Pride Y'all! We now return you to your regularly scheduled shindig.
