It's been great journey of impacts with the Hive Empowers Communities project which is making a significant impacts. The initiative is about potable water provision using mechanization systems. Through the project we have been able to provide good drinking water to communities experiencing challenges with water.
Extending the project to the Northern part of Ghana represents is a notable achievement. The Northern Region is among the regions with persistent challenges in accessing clean water due to several prolonged erratic rainfall, leading to frequent droughts which severely diminish the availability of water sources.
For most villages, they had to depend on water sources such as wells, rivers and temporary water bodies such as dams that can either dry up or become contaminated. today some of these villages have benefitted from the government's water initiative"One Village One Dam" project, but they haven't been able to adequately solved water issues in the region.
It's been quite challenging while embarking the project in the North as a result the geological conditions of the area. This sometimes make drilling wells and boreholes difficult and sometimes unproductive. Today we have achieved success in drilling the 16th borehole which is capable of serving more than 2000 people a day and this has been made possible with the power of Hive.
Yesterday, we launched the 16th borehole with a vibrant ceremony which saw a huge turn out. In attendance was the chief of Dingoni, his elders and residents from the area. It was a joyous moment for the people who over the years have experienced water challenges. This is Hive's 5th accomplishment in the area, providing free drinking water in 5 communities. We are happy to see the impacts made in the region, these water facilities have become a lifesaver for communities who would no longer have to depend on unsafe water sources.
The mechanized borehole is one of the best and a reliable source of water capable of supplying a substantial amount of clean water daily to serve the needs of the residents. The launch event is the last phase of the project which we always with a celebration of impacts. As part of the last phase we involve several media networks who take coverage of the event to share about the transformative project by Hive.
Through their platforms we will share with Ghana and the rest of the world how crypto is being used positively to make impacts. This effort always enhances the empowerment efforts of helping people to discover information they can leverage for good. This isn't just impact we made yesterday, but one that will continue to serve as testament of Hive's ability to transform lives.
Our biggest thanks to the entire Hive community for all the support and @valueplan for sponsoring the Hive Empowers Communities Project. Thank you @abdul01 for representing and to all Hivers who attended the launch. Everyone has been instrumental towards this course of empowering communities.
