Visit to Alpendurada Convent (Part 2)_ Marco de Canaveses, Portugal

Yesterday I shared with you my visit to the convent of Alpendurada, but as the post would be very long with this adventure I divided it into two parts.
I was eager to show everything. So remember about the open doors that I told you about, of course I inevitably decided to enter.
And I can't even tell you what an adrenaline rush it was, between the fear that someone would appear and the eagerness of curiosity to see what that wonderful convent was like inside.
It really was an adventure, going after the unknown.

Upon entering I came across a long corridor, it looked like one of those princess corridors, there was even a red carpet on the floor that contrasted with the green of the windows and the white walls with tiled skirting boards.
A splendid light came in from the windows.

Every door I looked at was a room, or rather it was, because in some only the mattresses and curtains remained.
I have to say that I had never seen curtains so old.
But I found myself embarking on a journey through time, because I can only imagine how beautiful it would be if it were still in good condition. But on the other hand, I felt nostalgic just thinking about a building with so much history and so beautiful as it had reached that abandoned and uninhabited state.

The curtains looked like silk and let light in through the windows. They had attractive colors.
In some of the rooms, all that remained intact were the curtains, everything else was in poor condition.

Somewhere lost on the floor was a sports newspaper from the time dated September 2004.

In the rooms there was a kind of closet with radiators to make the room temperature pleasant and a kind of mini pharmacy with some medicines.

Throughout the convent there were a variety of event rooms from the old hotel for everyone to enjoy.

Some rooms even had tables with tablecloths. Other rooms were completely vandalized and destroyed. Completely deteriorated by time.

Inside some event rooms there were many cabinets, perhaps for decorating the space and others for storing crockery.
All of them are already quite damaged and attacked by wood bugs.
On the tables there were still some dishes as if someone had forgotten to stop by.

The kitchens, which were several, still had some appliances, crockery and kitchen utensils.

The convent has a breathtaking view over the Douro River.

A lot of nostalgia in the mix, such as a beautiful and refined space left abandoned. It could be rehabilitated and made into a beautiful historical project.
