Synopsis
On this occasion and as the first post of the year I bring you this incredible Netflix original series, where we tell the story of an introverted girl named Yoon Ji-woo, who suffers from constant abuse in her high school because she lives all alone without her parents, therefore, she is the target of bullying from her classmates. This young girl possessing great physical aptitudes and great intelligence leads a life of sadness without knowing the whereabouts of her father until one day on her birthday he sends her a gift and calls her, it is at this moment where the girl verbally assaults her father blaming him for everything she is suffering without knowing the evil she was causing.
Her father, overcome by emotions, decides to go to see her and tell her the truth about his life, but arriving at the door where his daughter is, he is murdered by a mysterious man. This is the trigger for "Ji-woo" to look for a friend of her father's who instructs her in the mafia and then introduces her to the police to find her father's murderer Will this young woman be able to find the killer? What other mysteries surround this enigmatic plot?
Opinion
Certainly, as you all know I am an anime lover, but the so-called "Doramas" or Korean Dramas are very good and are also among my favorites, in fact, I have brought several reviews about some of them, it is for this reason that I bring this review so incredible that I took the opportunity to see in the Christmas season. Now, the plot is totally crazy, I love the way they absorb you into their story, with such a good diversity of characters, most of which each one has a role to develop, the fight scenes, although in some cases they seem a fantasy, are too good, they fascinated me and left me stunned, seeing the young Ji-woo being a girl of common stature, without a great athletic physique, fighting hand to hand, really motivates anyone.
The smooth and segmented development also gives you the pleasure to watch it little by little and enjoy every aspect of this installment, plus there are a few other life lessons that we can appreciate, now I will denote some qualities that fascinated me.
- Relationships: As in any plot, this is an aspect to take into account, since how the characters relate to each other, we can understand more deeply the development of the series. In this case, it seems to me good to denote it, because we observe couples that feel identified with each other and in turn with their environment, making them interact with total naturalness.
- Psychology: A quality that must be highlighted and taken into account, since we find a series that falls into the category "Police and Mafias ", in this sense, psychology is not so evident, due to the tricks that are usually seen in films or series of this style, unlike this one, where it is sublime the way they use this tool to treat criminals and police alike with the aim of obtaining information, playing with their minds and spirits to bend them.
- Wardrobe: It is extremely rare that I make a denotation of this, but I saw it very necessary since I loved the characters' outfits, very attached to what their occupations are, whether they are mafia or police, in turn also influences the personality of our characters, it feels like when you see a piece of clothing and say "it looks like me", referring to the clothes would fit you if you tried them on.
Scenarios
Let me tell you that the scenarios were totally brutal, very well attached to what is narrated in the series, starting with the lowest "neighborhoods" full of bums and drugs, to the clean streets of the city, having an impeccable structure, with buildings according to the scenes that were to be practiced in them, giving more excitement to the plot and in turn a depth that stands out in scenes of classic Korean cinema.
Fights
In my opinion the most outstanding aspect of the series, personally I really loved it, because obviously being Korean and the police, they are extremely trained to deal with this type of riots, therefore, we can enjoy the hand to hand fights using incredible martial arts in which they will also use knives, guns, pipes or any weapon they have at their disposal in order to achieve victory. The desire to win, the hunger for victory, the determination of a mission, are things that we will be able to see very often in these confrontations.
- Clean Fist: As we should know, belonging to the Korean mafia is not an easy thing to do, since they train their members very well and they are excellent fighters as well as the police in unarmed combat. We will be able to appreciate fighting techniques in the style of Kung-Fu, Karate, Muay Thai among many others.
- Weapons: I include them in the particular of weapons since in this series you never know what they can attack each other with since they are street fights "anything goes", we can see knives, katanas, bats, pipes, knuckles, among many other objects used to kill their rivals.
- Firearms: To be honest, I expected heavier weapons, such as machine guns, rifles, grenades, and these kinds of things, but in this aspect, they were a little more subtle by having in most cases only a pistol or revolver with a certain amount of cartridges, something that seemed strange to me "Shouldn't the mafia have larger caliber weapons?", What do you think?
Characters
At first, it was difficult for me to choose which character to talk about, since many have different qualities that caught my attention and that, of course, I could comment, but this time, taking into account the development, the attachment with certain characters and the way in which these were built little by little, made me define myself by these 3 that I will detail below:
- Yoon Ji-Woo: Our young girl protagonist of the series, cold, seemingly emotionless determined by a single goal, find the murderer of his father and kill him, having instruction from the Korean mafia, this is totally loyal to these and although it looks fragile, this young woman is able to kill for his goal and die for the same, with a brutal intelligence and very well-formed and effective strategies. Will Ji-Woo be able to accomplish her mission?
- Choi Moo-jin: The leader of the biggest drug mafia in Korea, this man helps Ji-Woo to advance his mission by welcoming her into his organization, a man with great physical qualities and great killer, who has an incredible skill using bladed weapons and great resistance to injury, however, these are not all his qualities, as he has a great ambition backed with a brilliant mind to forge the most elaborate plans and thus grow his organization. What plans are hidden behind this character?.
- Do Kang-jae: At first a young man is quite friendly with Ji-Woo, however, after causing a stir among the organization and committing treason, he is banished from the mafia and cut off by Moo-Jin. It is for this reason that, after several years, he gains some influence in the underworld in order to seek revenge on Ji-Woo and Moo-Jin, running his own drug network and getting men to attack. A totally ruthless being full of evil.

The truth is that it took me a long time to upload this "Review" that I wanted to write because there were others that had a higher priority, however, in my opinion, it was worth the wait and more to start this new year 2022, since I enjoyed every moment writing about this story for you, it is a great series, which many tend to underestimate for not being common series that most usually enjoy, but the truth is that you will not regret it, for those who like this kind of stories, I'm sure you will like it.

Sinopsis
En esta ocasión y como primer post del año les traigo esta increíble serie original de Netflix, donde nos narran la historia de una chica introvertida llamada Yoon Ji-woo, la cual sufre de constante abuso en su instituto debido a que vive totalmente sola sin sus padres, por ende, es el objetivo del Bullying de sus compañeros. Esta joven poseedora de grandes aptitudes físicas y una gran inteligencia, lleva una vida de tristeza sin conocer el paradero de su padre, hasta que un día en su cumpleaños este le envía un regalo y la llama, es en este momento donde la chica agrede verbalmente a su padre culpándolo de todo lo que está sufriendo sin saber el mal que ocasionaba.
Su padre invadido por las emociones, decide ir a verla y contarle la verdad sobre su vida, pero llegando a la puerta donde se encuentra su hija es asesinado por un hombre misterioso, siendo este el detonante para que “Ji-woo”, busque a un amigo de su padre y este le instruya en la mafia para luego introducirla en la policía para buscar al asesino de su padre ¿Podrá esta joven dar con el paradero del asesino? ¿Qué otros misterios envuelven esta trama tan enigmática?
Opinión
Ciertamente como todos saben soy amante del anime, pero los llamados “Doramas” o Dramas Coreanos son muy buenos y están también entre mis favoritos, de hecho, he traído varias reseñas sobre algunos de ellos, es por esta razón que traigo esta reseña tan increíble que aproveche de ver en las épocas decembrinas. Ahora bien, la trama es una total locura, me encanta la forma en la que te absorben dentro de su historia, con tan buena diversidad de personajes los cuales en su mayoría cada uno tiene un papel por desarrollar, las escenas de combate si bien en algunos casos parecen fantasiosas, son demasiado buenas, me fascinaron y dejaron atónita, ver a la joven Ji-woo siendo una chica de estatura común, sin un gran físico atlético, pelear mano a mano, realmente motiva a cualquiera.
El desarrollo tan suave y segmentado también le da ese placer de verla poco a poco y disfrutar cada aspecto de esta entrega, ademas hay unas que otras lecciones de vida que podemos apreciar, ahora denotare algunas cualidades que me fascinaron.
- Relaciones: Como en toda trama, este es un aspecto a tener mucho en cuenta, ya que por cómo se relacionan los personajes, podemos entender más a fondo el desarrollo de la serie. En este caso me parece bueno denotarlo, debido a que observamos parejas las cuales se sienten identificadas unas con otras y a su vez con su entorno, haciendo que interactúen con total naturalidad.
- Psicología: Una cualidad que hay que resaltar y tener en cuenta, ya que nos encontramos con una serie que entra en la categoría "Policial y Mafias", en este sentido, la psicología no es tan evidente, debido a los trucos que normalmente se ven en las películas o series de este estilo, a diferencia de esta, donde es sublime la forma en la que usan esta herramienta para tratar criminales y policías por igual con el objetivo de obtener información, jugando con sus mentes y espíritus para doblegarlos.
- Vestuario: Es en extremo raro que yo haga una denotación de esto, pero lo vi muy necesario, ya que me encantaron los atuendos de los personajes, muy apegados a lo que son sus ocupaciones, sean mafiosos o policías, a su vez también influye en la propia personalidad de nuestros personajes, se siente como cuando vez una prenda de ropa y dices "se parece a mí", haciendo referencia a que la ropa te quedaría bien si te la probaras.
Escenarios
Déjenme decirles que los escenarios fueron totalmente brutales, muy bien apegados a lo que se narra en la serie, empezando por los “Barrios” más bajos llenos de vagos y drogas, hasta las limpias calles de la ciudad, teniendo una estructura impecable, con edificios acordes para las escenas que se iban a practicar en las mismas, dando mayor emoción a la trama y a su vez una profundidad que destaca en escenas de cine coreano clásico.
Peleas
A mi parecer el aspecto más resaltante de la serie, realmente en lo personal me encanto, ya que obviamente tratándose de coreana y la policía, están en extremo entrenados para lidiar con este tipo de disturbios, por ende, podemos deleitarnos con peleas cuerpo a cuerpo utilizando artes marciales increíbles en las cuales también se emplearán cuchillos, pistolas, tubos o cualquier arma que tengan a su disposición con tal de alcanzar la victoria. El deseo de ganar, el hambre de victoria, la determinación de una misión, son cosas que podremos ver muy a menudo en estos enfrentamientos.
- Puño limpio: Como bien deberíamos saber, pertenecer a la mafia coreana no es una cosa sencilla, ya que estos entrenan muy bien a sus miembros y estos son peleadores excelentes al igual que la policía en combates sin armas. Podremos apreciar técnicas de pelea al estilo del Kung-Fu, Karate, Muay Thai entre muchos otros.
- Armas blancas: Las englobo en el particular de armas blancas ya que en esta serie nunca se sabe con qué se puedan atacar entre ellos, ya que son peleas callejeras "todo se vale", podremos ver cuchillos, katanas, bates, tubos, nudilleras, entre muchos otros objetos empleados para acabar con sus rivales.
- Armas de fuego: La verdad, esperaba armas más pesadas, tipo ametralladoras, rifles, granadas y este tipo de cosas, pero en este aspecto fueron un poco más sutiles al tener en la mayoría de los casos solo una pistola o revolver con cierta cantidad de cartuchos, algo que me pareció extraño "¿No debería tener la mafia armas de mayor calibre?", ¿Que opinan ustedes?
Personajes
Al principio se me hizo difícil elegir sobre que personaje hablar, ya que muchos tienen distintas cualidades que llamaron mi atención y que, por supuesto podría comentar, pero en esta ocasión, tomando en cuenta el desarrollo, el apego con ciertos personajes y la forma en la que estos fueron construidos poco a poco, me hicieron definirme por estos 3 que les detallare a continuación:
- Yoon Ji-Woo: Nuestra joven chica protagonista de la serie, fría, aparentemente sin emociones determinada por un solo objetivo, encontrar al asesino de su padre y matarlo, teniendo una instrucción de la mafia coreana, esta es totalmente leal a estos y aunque se vea frágil, esta joven es capaz de matar por su objetivo y morir por el mismo, con una inteligencia brutal y estrategias muy bien formadas y eficaces. ¿Podrá Ji-Woo cumplir su misión?
- Choi Moo-jin: El líder de la mafia de drogas más grande de Corea, este hombre ayuda a Ji-Woo a avanzar en su misión acogiendo a la misma dentro de su organización, un hombre con grandes cualidades físicas y gran asesino, el cual tiene una destreza increíble usando armas blancas y gran resistencia a las heridas, sin embargo, estas no son todas sus cualidades, ya que tiene una gran ambición respaldada con una mente brillante para forjar los planes más elaborados y así hacer crecer su organización. ¿Que planes se ocultan tras este personaje?
- Do Kang-jae: Al principio un joven bastante amable con Ji-Woo, sin embargo, luego de causar revuelo entre la organización y cometer una traición, este es desterrado de la mafia y cortado por Moo-Jin. Es por esta razón, cuando luego de varios años, este se hace de cierta influencia en los bajos fondos con el fin de buscar venganza hacia Ji-Woo y Moo-Jin, manejando su propia red de drogas y consiguiendo hombres para atacar. Un ser totalmente despiadado y lleno de maldad.

La verdad tarde bastante en subir este “Review” que hace tiempo quise escribir debido a que habían otros que presentaban una prioridad mayor, sin embargo, en mi opinión valió la pena la espera y más para iniciar este nuevo año 2022, ya que disfrute cada momento escribiendo sobre esta historia para ustedes, es un gran serie, las cuales muchos tienden a subestimar por no ser series comunes que la mayoría suelen disfrutar, pero la verdad que no se arrepentirán, para los que les gusta este tipo de historias, estoy segura que les gustara.
