I really don’t like writing about politics but sometimes the fuckery is just too much and I have to get a rant off my chest. In Australia the struggle for freedom is ongoing and the latest stooge making headlines is the eSafety Commissioner Julia Inman Grant. She is currently butting heads with Elon Musk over her attempt to force him to censor content on his platform.

Of course, the argument is all about free speech and her attempts in Australia to restrict what the people here can see and talk about on the internet. It is no surprise that our eSafety Commissioner is a darling of the World Economic Forum and you can read a bit of her bio on their site HERE. The first sentence reads :-

"Julie leads the world’s first government regulatory agency committed to keeping its citizens safer online."

Yeah, wow. Australia is leading the world on this one. Good for us. They always seem to pick the same types for this kind of Nanny State garbage. In the US they had Nina Jankowicz heading up the Disinformation Task Force and she lasted about 3 weeks over there. You might remember her little Mary Poppins rendition...

Then in New Zealand we’ve had Jacinta Ardern pushing the same censorship agenda at the United Nations. Thankfully she is out of power now but still a player behind the scenes no doubt. They always play the same maternal / motherhood angle that it's all for our own good and they’re just trying to keep everyone safe. It makes me want to vomit.

Anyway, Musk is having none of it and is prepared to go to court over this latest take down order which was put out in response to the church stabbing here recently. This meme sums it up nicely for me.

The outcome of this little stoush is going to be relevant to my fellow Australians here on HIVE, because while we may like to think that our platform is censorship free we haven’t really had to defend against this kind of threat yet. This is the trend, unfortunately. Individuals and even our Witnesses don't have the deep pockets to defend an expensive court case. What we really need is a decent leader in the West who will stand up to this nonsense.

Will we ever see the likes of him again?
