NFL Week 1 Recap: Lions Baby!

As I said in my post yesterday, it was a pretty good weekend for me as far as football goes. Sure, my fantasy team sucked and @mrsbozz and I find ourselves in the bottom two slots in our league. I'll talk more about that tomorrow.
I also lost every single bet I made this weekend which kind of sucks, but I have come to expect that now. It seems my earlier success with sports betting was just a flash in the pan an now I am at the mercy of the gods in terms of ever getting a win again.
I actually didn't watch as much football as I had planned this past weekend for it being the opening weekend of the season. The games on Thursday and Friday nights were well past my bedtime. Actually, probably not Friday night, but I think it was being streamed on Peacock Network and I refuse to pay for another streaming service at this point.
Meanwhile, due to there being a game on Thursday and Friday, I think there weren't as many games on the weekend. Usually there are two in each slot at the 1:00 PM time and the 3:30 PM time. That wasn't the case this weekend.
I think we all know by now that Kansas City beat Baltimore in the season opener on Thursday, I'm sure Taylor Swift is very happy about that. Then down in Brazil Philadelphia stunned Green Bay after I think the Packers jumped to an early lead in that game.
Steelers beat the Falcons, Buffalo beat Arizona in a pretty thrilling game as well. I have Allen as my main quarterback in our fantasy league, so that is a big deal for me.
Chicago beat Tennessee in a bit of heart breaker, and New England beat Cincinnati at home much to the dismay of the Bengal's fans. I've gotta be honest, the goal of the Patriots was to keep Joe Burrow off the field and they did a good job of it. My wife's fantasy score is a testament to that.
Houston beat Indy by two points 29 to 27, and Miami beat Jacksonville by three points. New Orleans trounced all over Carolina 47 to 10, so it appears that the woes down in Carolina aren't close to being over yet. Minnesota took down the Giants 28 to 6 and The Chargers beat the Raiders 22 to 10.
Finally, Seattle beat Denver, Dallas beat Cleveland in an embarrassing show for Watson, Tampa Bay beat Washington, and San Francisco beat the Jets last night.
As I already mentioned, the Lions had an overtime win against the Rams. I'm looking forward to watching them play this season. Goff didn't have the greatest game, but a win is a win either way. We need more of those!
Action this week kicks off on Thursday with Buffalo heading down to Miami for a game that will hand one of those teams their first loss of the season.
Personally, I'll be looking towards Sunday and that 1:00 PM game between Tampa Bay and Detroit in the Lions home opener.
With both teams notching a win this past week, it should be a good game!
