Hello everyone
Happy new week and a beautiful Monday to you all on this lovely day, it's a beginning of a new week and I hope after a nice weekend, you are all prepared to achieve something great this week and I wish you all the best of the week.
It is my pleasure to share with you today from my sewing room this simple and beautiful scrunchies hair bow I made to compliment my outfit, it is made from two different pieces of left over fabrics I had with elastic band
I had made this outfit for awhile and I have been wearing it for so long but today, I decided to make a matching color hair bow to add as an accessory to my dressing, I have to visit a friend tomorrow and I have decided to wear this gown, then I remembered I didn't have a matching color hair band to use as I have decided not to cover my hair as well as not leaving the hair just like that for it not to disturb my face, looking through my bags, I couldn't find something to go with my dressing so I had to look for something similar to use, then I found this two fabrics which I thought would be nice for what I intend to make and it was just as perfect as I wanted. I had to place it on my mannequin for better view😋
To make this scrunchie hair bow
From the check fabric, I cut out 2.5 x 20"
It was sewn on the wrong side and turned inside out.
I cut out an elastic band of 0.5 x 8" and inserted it in to the long piece, sewn at the tip together and set aside.
I cut out another piece of 6 x 3.5 on fold.
It was sewn round on the wrong side leaving an opening at the side where it can be turned inside out to the right side
I cut out 3 x 8" on fold from a plain black fabric.
It was folded in two as I measured 1" and slanted it downward and it was cut out
It was sewn round leaving an opening at the base to be turned inside out which I did.
Locating the center of both pieces, I placed the other piece on top of the plain black fabric and I ran a long stitch on both.
I cut out a small piece from the plain fabric which was sewn together and turned inside out.
The thread was gathered together and I placed the piece with the elastic band on it and the small piece was used to wrapped them together.
This is the final and beautiful outcome, I hope you like how simple and lovely it looks.
Now I have my scrunchie hair bow ready for use, I'm sure it will look beautiful on my hair just as seen below.
