The magi and Jesus in the Bible: We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him. Matthew 2:2

The gospel of Saint Matthew is the only gospel that recounts the arrival of the three magi to Bethlehem to worship the baby Jesus. The Gospel of Saint Matthew is very brief in the narration of the story and does not leave many details about these characters and only tells us that they came from the East, most likely Persia, Media, and Chaldea.
And the story of this important visit has something interesting, the Bible tells us that these magi had some type of spiritual guide, that is, they knew the meaning of the star that guided them and when King Herod set a trap for them to kill the baby Jesus, they took another path so as not to see Herod again. It is important to highlight that in many stories from the Old Testament, the magicians were associated with clairvoyance, prophecy, and the interpretation of dreams. Magicians in the Bible were always mysterious people and respected for their abilities; clearly, the magicians had a special knowledge that even today with all the technology available is not fully understood.
And all this has an origin or an explanation, the word Magi in Aramaic has a meaning, and that is "doctor of wisdom". Wisdom as a spiritual gift and not as science is what makes possible the understanding of immaterial realities and how they relate with the material or physical world. And this shows that wisdom is not simply something desirable, beautiful, or harmonious, but that it is also something more, it is spiritual power. The physical world that is perceived with the five senses is actually a tiny fraction of what really exists, and in the understanding of this spiritual truth has always lain the true power of the magicians.
This is how the Bible tells us how the magi appeared in Jerusalem before Herod:
"After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, ´Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him" Matthew 2:1-2.
After this, the Bible tells us that the wise men found the child in a manger to worship him and they never saw Herod again.
