Dear travelers join me as I travel to Abia state in Nigeria by road.

Spending twelve hours on th road is no joke.

You might be wondering if i traveled out of my country, unfortunately I am still in Nigeria.

Its been two years since I set my eyes on my family last, so i decided to travel, traveling by road is a kind of scary due to high rate of insecurity we experience here, and it's a very long distance journey.
So i traveled from the western side of Nigeria to the eastern part of the country.

The preparation

Firstly i went to the park by 4:pm and boarded my ticket that cost me 27000 Naira which is equivalent to 80 to 90 hive, i got a sit close to the window, its a marcapolo bus that consist of 52 Passengers or more so it it will take time before the bus will get filled up.

I went back home to pack some other things i need, i went to the shop and got myself some body spray, bathroom slippers, my medications because those things will be difficult to get over there in the east.

By 6:pm i left my house to the park because its going to be a long night journey, i needed just water and dried beef for dinner, i got them and headed to the park.

The journey was fun

Getting there people where still boarding and the bus was not full yet, so i sat with my friend and waited, we waited till 7:45pm when they decided to take off.

So they checked everyones tickets, searched everyone's bag to make sure no one has something against the law or any harmful objects, this took longer than i expected but its okay because its for our safety.

My sit number was number 23 close to the window so i had a full view of everything tho it was dark but it was really a good experience as always.

Immediately the bus moved a man stood up, advertising his products which includes some herbal medicine for different sickness, he cracked some jokes that amused everyone in the bus.

As we got closer to some dangerous area, it became darker and i became a little bit nervous, i relaxed my mind when i saw that security officials well armed were situated in just few miles after the other, so we passed about twelve military checking points, so we were safe, the bus had a television and charging port to charge our phones, so that made it more enjoyable since we can chat with families and friends.

We got to Anambra state by 4:30am and we were much relaxed because at that point we are getting closer to the end of our journey.

Its been two years.

By 6:am i was sooo tired and exhausted, I have been on transit since 8:pm the previous day, i became so hungry, yeeee i found something I can eat, and its something i have not eaten since two years.

AFTER long hours of sitting down, finally i got to Aba and i was very happy tho am not yet through with my journey, i got a tricycle going to my village and that took me like an hour to get there.

Finally am here, wow village is sooo sweet, lets what they have for me here, they have village corn and pear, they prepared vegetable soup for me.

Life in the village is different.

I meet my father busy piling casava, my mom has gone to the farm, so everywhere was looking so lonely, my brother was not around.

Village is has some disadvantage, there is no power supply, i went with so many charged powerbanks, no good water and no good infrastructure, but there are so many fresh vegetables and fruits around me and am really enjoying them.

I have to boil water for bathing, there is no shower, its a local bathroom, i have to boil water with the local stove, firewood and a local kettle, its really fun because i haven't done that for a long period of time.
