New promo card battle with Sanctus Vicar

Introduction

Normally i try to prepare the battle report a little bit upfront. This week the team did something different for the challenge and asked to make a post about the new promo card either with a normal battle or via a ghost card challenge.

I tried to do a ghost card challenge with my alt but that was really not funny at all.

So i moved my Sanctus Vicar to my alt account that i play manually, currently in silver. I played 25 battles and only got 3 changes to use this unit. In those battles I was overpowered with strong gladius units.

The last battle, really last, all energy was gone. It presented a very low mana battle which demonstrates the power of this unit with a bit of luck :).

Unit

This is currently the only promo unit i have bought. I bought it up to level 4 for the rear and front cleanse.

Lore:

Sanctus Vicar Logan Rockford, high priest of the Church of Gryyja, Goddess of Protection, joined the citizens of Feranon when they rose against the Chaos Empire. Without him, the uprising would have failed before it began.

He worked tirelessly to cleanse the rebels of the afflictions cast upon them by the legion’s mages and unholy priests. It is he who kept them fighting, defending his allies while simultaneously slinging great gouts of fire at the surrounding legionnaires.

Synergies / Strategies

Noxious Fumes - With this rule set this unit really shines with the two cleanses.

This is the main reason to buy this unit imho.

Strategy

There are not a lot of matches where you can play it, so you'll be waiting for a noxious fumes match.
This happened with only 13 mana so the 6 mana is a risky play but i had something in mind with this

Rulesets

Noxious Fumes:
All unit are poisoned from the beginning. Which meaning from the 2 second round all unit will receive 2 damage.
This can be cleansed like what we are going to do. Or use immunity unit, also very scares units.

	I want Kelya for the extra shield when my opponent will use melee which i expect it will hit the shields first. Also note that the poison goes directly from the health. My Lux was to expensive in this matter.

Halfling Refugee (lvl 1)
Very nice new rewards unit that only cost 1 mana an has 6 health. The has a 10% change to exhaust if not it will be +10% the next round unit it has exhaust and starts over. With the low mana battle and the poison it will be a short match

Torrent Fiend (lvl 1)
Just a meat shield. to protect my Sanctus from a opportunity play.

Sanctus Vicar (lvl 4)
Star of this week. The cleanse and rear cleanse will heal my Hafling and Igor which is very powerful in noxious fumes matches.

Igor Darkspear (lvl 3)
For only two mana this unit has 2 ranged damage and 5 health and will not be poisoned by noxious fumes because of the Sanctus Vicar.

Rounds

Start :

Interesting line up of my opponent... One immunity unit that was expected but also the heal to counter the poison is a nice strategy. When Iza the Fanged gets in the front i the battle will be mine. Just hope i can kill Xenith Monk before my Hafling Refugee is killed.

Round 1:

The shield on my refugee helped absorbed the first hit of the Xenith Monk.
Must say the heal is good just op i might attack first before it gets healed again.
Both my front and rear units are now cleansed of the poison by Sanctus Vicar.

Round 2:

I missed the scavenger of Iza the Fanged. But it was not enough and its killed. Now i outpower my opponent with 5 damage so the match is over.

Round 3:

Victory, finally a win with Sanctus Vicar.

Conclusion

As stated in the beginning it a very situational unit and mostly shines with Noxious Fumes.

Even if it took me a while to find a nice match to write about I'm playing manually again with my alt account. Cannot wait for the moment where I can earn more glint with my main account with manually battling.
