Solutions needed for Solar waste

Solar energy is becoming one of the hottest topics to discuss. The main reason is that the government and the world are entirely moving towards free energy understanding the importance of renewable energy. Extracting energy from the Sun has always been the biggest source of energy for all living beings on Earth. There are only some living beings that don't rely on the Sun for their energy. Solar panels are the modern way of generating electricity with the help of the Sun. If we implement solar panels, it usually keeps generating electricity for almost 25 years. After 25 years the panels have to be changed for better output.

It has been almost 25 years since solar came into existence. The first round of the end of the cycle is happening in many places. People who had implemented solar 25 years back are losing efficiency on the solar panels. As the panels get old their capacity to generate electricity also decreases. Some panels do very well and some panels may not even have the life of other panels too.

25 years lifetime for solar is almost ending

People who had their solar panels implemented 25 years ago are already seeing an end of life. This became the talk of the town during the early 2000s when people wanted to implement solar. Mostly it was adopted by businesses rather than individuals. I have seen some individuals adopting too. It is still very hard to convince people to start using solar panels. Back then industries were keen on implementing it and the government was also supportive of this.

Today it is almost 25 years and many panels have started getting their end of life. Not all solar panels have any use after their days are over. Some solar panels might be usable but mostly others will have to go to scrap.

Scheme by the government will add to more waste

Today the government is very keen on promoting this technology to everyone and I believe in the next 5 years every house will have solar panels implemented to reduce the cost of electricity. The electricity demand is also increasing drastically and the nonrenewable resources are also getting depleted. Depending on renewable sources like solar can be a good alternative but waste management is not currently very good. We have to improve on that aspect and we have to bring solutions to handle our solar wastes.

Solutions to recycle solar waste

Unfortunately recycling or reusing solar panels is not an easy thing. Many of the side metals can be reused but the panels have to go to waste and there is currently no proper process or procedure to properly dispose of them or recycle them.

There are many research works going on to find out ways to manage solar waste. In another 5 or 10 years there will be more waste everywhere unless we don't find a way to recycle them or a proper way to dispose or get rid of them. While purchasing them, the panels are very costly and when we dispose of them the panels are worth nothing.
