Good morning and welcome to this amazing week. Welcome to my blog and thank you for always checking my content. This morning i woke up with a matter that bothers my heart and this matter was burn out of the teaching from the theme of my church this year. "The heart of man" As i heard many speakers treat the matter of the heart of man from the beginning of this year. I've been trying to study in line to that so i can really have a grasp of what the heart of man can do. I will attempt to share my thoughts and i hope it blesses someone and encourages someone too.
The Heart of Man
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9)
The human heart is a complex and mysterious entity, often shrouded in secrecy and hidden from the prying eyes of others. Yet, the Bible offers profound insights into the nature of the heart, revealing its deepest desires, motivations, and inclinations.
The Heart: A Reflection of Our True Nature
According to Scripture, the heart is the epicenter of human emotions, thoughts, and actions. "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7). Our heart reflects our true nature, revealing our deepest fears, desires, and motivations.
The Deceitfulness of the Heart
The heart is also described as "deceitful above all things" (Jeremiah 17:9). This deceitfulness can manifest in various ways, such as:
Self-deception: We often deceive ourselves, justifying our sinful actions and rationalizing our wrong behaviors.
Hidden motives: Our hearts can harbor hidden motives, driving us to act in ways that may seem righteous on the surface but are actually self-serving.
Emotional manipulation: We may manipulate others emotionally, using guilt, anger, or fear to control and influence those around us.
The Heart's Desperate Wickedness
The Bible also describes the heart as "desperately wicked" (Jeremiah 17:9). This wickedness can manifest in various ways, such as:
Rebellion against God: Our hearts can rebel against God's authority, leading us to disobey His commands and reject His love.
Sinful desires: Our hearts can harbor sinful desires, driving us to engage in immoral behaviors and pursue selfish ambitions.
Pride and arrogance: Our hearts can become prideful and arrogant, leading us to exalt ourselves above others and reject humility and obedience.
The Transformation of the Heart
Despite the heart's deceitfulness and wickedness, the Bible offers hope for transformation. "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10).
Through faith in Jesus Christ, our hearts can be transformed, renewed, and cleansed from sin. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

As we reflect on the heart's deceitfulness and wickedness, may we be driven to seek transformation through faith in Jesus Christ. May our hearts be renewed, cleansed, and transformed, reflecting the love, compassion, and righteousness of our Lord and Savior.
"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer" (Psalm 19:14).
