These two groups shut down commerce and transportation in pursuit of what they thought was a higher goal.

...One of these groups did so for far longer and shut things down more thoroughly. One of these groups is primarily peaceful.

I see this thing as competing values of freedom versus security. Force used to prolong life at the expense of liberty versus peaceful protests advocating rights.

It's just so nuts to me that the Canadian government, who shut down commerce and transportation, upsetting people's lives and livelihoods, is upset that individual Canadian people are doing the same.

Like... "Let's take people's pets and children and shut down their access to their own credit cards and bank accounts and shut down their friend and family member's accounts so they can't help and jail hundreds of people for essentially parking violations...

For essentially doing what we've been doing for years."

And the government still fails to see the hypocrisy or irony.
