I finally managed to write and publish my first article in this new world!
Hi everyone!

At the moment I live in Solferino, a small town in the north of Yucatan in Mexico, for a volunteer experience in the jungle. A few days ago, while I was writing some notes in my personal diary, I thought... why not share the experiences I'm having during my gap year? So here I am!

I started my sabbatical landing in Cancún on November 11th. The reasons for this choice are many. Certainly the first one was to take time just for myself both because I worked for almost 10 years for an important multinational as an IT consultant and because of the hectic life in a city like Milan. Furthermore, I had long felt the desire to see the world other than the European continent and have different experiences.

I admit that I feel like a beginner writing this article but life is like a journey and it's always one step at a time. I cannot avoid writing the concept of arrows now, which is very important to me. This year in August I completed the Camino de Santiago del Norte that I started last summer... so along the way you always have yellow arrows that guide you at all times. So this is the same philosophy I'm applying to my gap year experience. Personally, it's incredible that every day is different but I think this aspect is definitely influenced by the fact that I'm currently out of my safe comfort zone.

Here is a photo of me when I just reached the kilometer zero in Muxía on foot in four days from Santiago de Compostela. In total about 140 kilometers.

I strongly believe that this experience has allowed me to be here now in Mexico.

In addition to walking, I have been passionate about theatrical improvisation for four years. I would love to participate in a theater improvisation festival here in Latin America. Here is a photo of me while I was waiting for the results of a test as a show host from the professor.

In terms of film and music tastes, I am passionate about David Lynch and the music of the icelandic musical group Sigur Rós. I feel lucky to have seen them last year in Milan!

Thank you so much for reading my first article!

Olé!

P.s. special thanks to my dear friend @c3r34lk1ll3r for letting me be here!
