is LinkedIn Premium Worth it for Better Job Opportunities?

LinkedIn is a social media platform for business and employment and these days a lot of companies use this site for hiring. I have observed that in the last few years hiring through LinkedIn has increased and probably this is the reason why people are going for LinkedIn premium subscriptions so that they get more features. There are many other job portals and they also offer premium subscriptions and employers use that as well for hiring. Even most of the companies are using different sources for resumes and they are trying to get the best talent for the skillset that they are hiring.

In the last few months I noticed that I am getting a lot of emails from LinkedIn about the premium subscription but to be honest I don't know whether it is worth it or not. I think after some point in time every person is ready for another job and looks for another option. The job market is better now and I have seen people getting selected in different organisations easily because a lot of hiring is happening it is good because this way people are getting the option to move from one to another and even freshers are getting jobs in the industry. The hiring process has also changed now and it is mostly online, especially after the Covic pandemic which I think is good because it saves time for recruiters as well as for job seekers as they can connect online.
 

I have been using LinkedIn for quite some time but I have never used premium and I also never got the job through this portal. In my case, job portals have worked and every time I switched jobs it was just because of some leading job portals. I try to register myself in a couple of leading job websites and keep on updating my profile when I look for the change and when I'm not looking for the change then I deactivate my profile so that no recruiter can see it. I recently updated my profile because I changed my job in 2021 and now it's been three years since I think it is also time for me to look for other options and see what kind of opportunities I am getting.

This is the email I have got from LinkedIn where they are offering me a 50% discount for 2 months. I'd like to mention here that the cost of a LinkedIn subscription is not less in India as it costs about 1300 INR. This subscription cost is a recurring expense which means once you subscribe for this then you will have to put in your credit card details and a deduction will happen automatically this is what I do not like because all these platforms try to get control of their self and although they say that I can cancel anytime still it is not that much easy. If I go for a premium subscription now then there will be a discount for the next two months but after that, the regular pricing will be applicable the question is is it worth going for the premium subscription? They will be offering me certain features that are available for premium users.
 

 
I don't know if anyone in my friend circle is using the premium subscription but I will just try to explore if it is really helpful to get better job offers and profile gets highlighted after subscribing for the premium. I will discuss with my friends and colleagues to see what are their thoughts about the LinkedIn premium and whether is it worth going for this or not. Although I have been a user of this platform for a long time. I have never experienced premium hence I don't know how it works and how beneficial it is because it's not a good idea to opt for the subscription if it doesn't work the way it is expected. People who are in the hiring business use premium subscriptions because maybe this can be useful for them to get more profiles but for a user like me it may not be that useful but again I'm not sure.
