We are thrilled to see the culmination of several years of work get so close to fruition, especially on a project that has so much potential and which we as Actifit team have supported since initiation.

Following the official announcement post here, we have kicked off testing for the different interaction, services and components involved. Below are our results:

  • Register your account on the SPK Network: Pass.
  • Get some SPK: Pass.
  • Power up SPK to get BROCA: Pass. We had some BROCA already and increased it to 81 Mil.
  • Create a Paid Contract using BROCA: Pass. This was unaffected by service outages as will be depicted below.
  • Upload Files to Your New Contract: Fail x 2 Then Pass. First time we attempted to upload files to contract, we faced an issue that file was not upload, and no progress was shown, nor made. Attempts to refresh the page did not resolve the issue.
The failed attempts as explained by @disregardfiat were due to his service being down and failing to restart. This incident happened twice after service restart. Eventually We were able to successfully upload files and things went smooth. Service being down maybe requires having alternatives nodes available to avoid service disruption, particularly with an anticipated large scale spk network.

One issue faced during upload is that no progress was shown to the user. The status did not even change to "In Progress", so there was no way for us to figure out whether file was uploading or not. According to @disregardfiat there is a progress bar that would show there. We also recommend changing the status to In Progress alongside showing the progress bar. Eventually the screen did refresh and confirm upload was done.
  • Create a Free Contract: Pass.
  • Extend a Contract Expiration Date: Pass.
  • Encrypt a File: Pass.

The above covers testing the spk network using the dlux.io web interface.

We also performed some testing on the other interface (Spk Drive), below are few comments/feedback:

  • UI/UX needs a lot of improvement: Site looks very much plain and needs a lot of work.
According to @Nathansenn, there are some mockups for UI/UX improvements which should improve this extensively. A unified theme between different spk components would make a lot of sense from our pesepctive.
  • We will list few additional issues faced:
  • Login page remaining in middle of page after login
    https://usermedia.actifit.io/LXKU2ZXYTTI6D47IN3K0U2MRYS3B2N
  • X (close button) evades you when trying to close a popup
  • BROCA count on main page is different than BROCA count on dlux.io (screenshot above top right). Also no formatting applied
  • No identification of current file storage length (default 1 day always) upon clicking on file details.
  • Extend file storage BROCA calculation is off compared to dlux.io
    https://usermedia.actifit.io/LXKU9UHM62JL8XNP2TMD88YQXSBLO
  • Tons of requests via keychain for signing with memo key on wallet page (only stopped popping upon leaving wallet page)
  • SPK wallet value SPK calculation is incorrect (decimal point issue)

We will try to find some time via our resources to help out with front end development for the spk drive.

Hope this helps!
